Knowing what to ask for help with can often be the biggest roadblock to actually getting the assistance you need. In fact, failing to know what to ask for may just be the #1 reason that I don’t ask for help soon enough. I get stuck because I don’t know what to specifically ask for.

I’ve done quite a bit of self-reflection, and have come up with these common areas where we often need help but also hesitate to ask for it.

  • Strategizing your next moves
  • Identifying your helpers
  • Clarifying your needs
  • Prioritizing your tasks
  • Tackling overwhelm
  • Managing emotions
  • Changing habits
  • Proofreading or reviewing work
  • Bridging skill gaps
  • Practicing new skills or presentations
  • Leveraging influence

Each of these points opens up a pathway to progress, but they also come with their own set of challenges and nuances. For my email based subscribers, I go through a deeper exploration of these points and also share a few more insights, stories, and actionable advice on how to effectively identify and ask for the help you need.
